I am examining the influence of surface water connectivity on freshwater fish and aquatic invertebrate assemblages in lakes and ponds of the North Slope, Alaska. Through observational study and experimental work, the information gathered will help answer questions about impacts or changes in freshwater food webs due to climate warming.

Addictions & Ethnic Minority Research: My current research interests center on substance abuse problems and recovery with an emphasis on ethnic minority wellbeing and cultural identification. I am interested in addiction science as it relates to health behaviors, and attitudes and beliefs in treatment of co-morbid mental health and substance abuse disorders. Additionally, I am interested in examining health disparities that exist in rural communities, especially as they relate to barriers to drug addiction treatment and access effective treatment.
